Coach Bio
Your dedicated fitness coach committed to helping you achieve your goals
My training philosophy centers on creating sustainable, long-term lifestyle changes rather than quick fixes. I believe in building a strong foundation through proper form, progressive overload, and consistency.
Every client is unique, and I tailor my approach to meet individual needs, preferences, and limitations. My goal is to empower you with the knowledge and skills to maintain your fitness journey independently while providing the support and accountability you need along the way.
I emphasize a holistic approach that considers not just physical training, but also nutrition, recovery, and mental well-being. Together, we'll create a comprehensive plan that fits seamlessly into your life and helps you become the strongest, healthiest version of yourself.

Hey everyone, I'm Alex Cooksey — nice to meet you! I grew up near Denver before heading east for college, eventually spending nearly 15 years in the NYC area. In 2023, my wife Jenny and I made the move to Atlanta, where we're happily putting down roots.
In April 2024, we welcomed our silly and wonderful son, Kai. I already sense a healthy amount of mischief in his future. Our other babies include Piglet the cat, Sadie the dog, and our cars, Appa and Toph — all rescues.
I attended Princeton University torn between studying chemistry and music performance, before ultimately majoring in East Asian Studies. It was during those four years that I fell in love with strength training and discovered a passion for helping others become stronger, healthier, and more confident. These days, I'm fortunate to stay connected to the world of fitness and performance as a software engineer at TeamBuildr, where I work on platforms that help coaches, athletes, and gyms perform at their best.
Outside of work, Jenny and I love cooking and eating our way through every cuisine imaginable. I especially love curries of all kinds, soup noodles like ramen and pho, and anything involving peanut butter. Fitness, for me, is equal parts passion and a necessary counterbalance to my enjoyment of good food.
When I'm not writing code, training, or cooking, you'll usually find me buying books I fully intend to read someday, playing video games, nerding out about animals, or occasionally dusting off my keyboard to play a little piano.
